I am absolutely incapable of writing more than three sentences of a story, but I haven’t the heart to discard any of my bits and peices. So this is a graveyard of them.
Nothing At All

The Moon hung low and bright, viscous white pooling on the horizon, pockmarked with holes for each of its long-gone lovers. Its surface was rough with heartbreak, but it slowly rose from its own grave to greet the world, the tides, the insects it couldn’t see and only assumed they were there. The great distance between the moon and everything it wanted was as vast as its love itself, stretching infinitely further. Gossamer-thin strings of silk and longing stretched through the icy void and clung to the hair of the barista at the corner cafe, to the cat who wailed on the fence in the yard, to the wave being born who will inevitably crash into its own destruction in a moment or two.
Regicide

The columns looked too tall, too wide and too powerful to fall. They were symbols of the gods, the mighty earth below. It was their job to hold up the vast weight of the sky. And here they were, falling, falling, falling down, crumbling to pieces before the eyes of an army of greedy men. They weren’t supposed to do that.
I yearn to catch the sun

It is raining, and I am hungry.
I am not too sure why I mention it raining - it only has been for decades. My whole life, it has drizzled, stormed, hailed and snowed. The overcast sky has not broken for our little valley my whole life. I have only heard of the sun from the elder’s words, when they wish for it back, pray to its golden glory to return and break our dreary prison. The seasons still go on, the air warms considerably after the long winter months, but the bastard still refuses to show its face. I have grown up knowing the warm kiss of embers and flame, and told that the sun is much more than that, much more than the raging woods-fires that break down after a lightning storm. It is much more than the hungry bite of a flame, but softer, a sweet kiss from far away. A true summer’s touch.
*A/N: While it is currently raining here, it’s also the beginning of a summer I dread, thanks to our infamous heat and the promises of a dry and crackly season. I am thankful for this rain and hope it lasts. I am also quenching my hunger with some noodles :> (lol I love how bug-eyed my emoticons are)
